Elspeth whyte
Where to start? Elspeth started dancing at the age of 5 (her mother always said her brains were in her feet). Her claim to fame being that she has performed on stage with Rudolf Nureyev in the ballet Petrushka. From her first principal role as Maisie in Edinburgh Music Theatre's production of The Boyfriend to her last the Baroness in Southern Light Opera's production of The Sound of Music, Elspeth had performed iwth most of the amateur companies in Edinburgh and West Lothian. Her roles have been many and diverse from Sally Bowles in Cabaret and Dolly in Hello Dolly, to Sally in Me and My Girl and the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz (twice). Witches and bitches are becoming a habit!
This is Elspeth's fifth time performing with Threepenny Theatricals, who she loves working with. She and Fiona Main have worked together for so many years, one of Elspeth's favourite productions being Meet Me in St. Louis where they played alongside each other as sisters. Elspeth loves to point out she was the younger sister Esther. As well as performing on stage, Elspeth has choreographed for Showcase, Livingston Players and Linlithgow Amateur Musical Productions and has served on several committees, most recently as Vice President of Southern Light Opera. When not performing, Elspeth works as the Senior Receptionist of Oak Tree Vet Centre, and when not at work, loves travelling with her bestie Louise, our choreographer. When not at work or play, Elspeth loves nothing more than relaxing at home with a wee glass of fizz and her 4 cats, Benny, Bumble, Bee and Bagheera. Now sit back, relax, enjoy, and remember she's only acting! - Biography taken from the programme for Cinderella (2024) |
