Elspeth whyte

Elspeth started dancing at the age of five (her mother always said her brains were in her feet) and she has been performing ever since.

She joined Edinburgh Youth Theatre aged fourteen and progressed after leaving school to play her first principal role aged seventeen in The Royal lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh Music Theatre Company's first ever production of The Boyfriend.  Since then Elspeth has performed with nearly all the amateur companies in Edinburgh often in principal roles one of her favourites playing alongside Fiona Main as sisters in Southern Light Opera's production of Meet Me in St Louis (Fiona being the older sister)!

Elspeth has also been involved in many plays, she was in fact chairperson of Southern Light Drama and played the mother in their award winning production of Black Chiffon. She has more recently been involved with Livingston Players  taking part in two award winning plays Steel Magnolias and Calendar Girls (Miss September, the one with the buns) amongst many others.

Over the past few years Elspeth has been choreographer for LAMP based in Linlithgow and Livingston Players based at Howden Park, Livingston and although she has enjoyed the challenge feels it is time to get back to performing.  Elspeth is delighted to be working with Threepenny Theatricals again having played the part of Valerie in last year's very successful production of Elephants.
