“What a great afternoon of entertainment at the Church Hill Theatre this afternoon. Congratulations to all involved in Threepenny Theatrical’s production of Dear Brutus. One of J. M. Barrie’s triumphs. Fiona Main, your attention to detail is incredible.”
Jacquie Cotter
“Watching the wonderful Fiona Main in JM Barrie’s Dear Brutus at the Church Hill Theatre. Wonderful production and cast.”
Joanna Bleau
“I read Dear Brutus during my stage director training and although I had forgotten most of the plot I had remembered the high level of difficulty involved in directing and teching this play. Fiona Main has done a wonderful job of overcoming these difficulties as director and has created a rich sumptuous production carefully and thoughtfully moulded into a well-tempered ensemble piece which is not easy when the play has moments that in the hands of a lesser director than this can falter of even grind to a halt. Fiona has enabled some truly excellent characterisations and performances from the cast. The tech team lit and dressed the space beautifully with a delicate touch to create first a warm period ambiance and then a spookily magical wood. The set was extraordinary in its adaptability and its superb detail. All-in-all a magical production with a finely judged ending wrought with poignant and thoughtful acting leaving us, the audience, in delectable ambiguity. There are two more chances to go today the matinee and the evening performance. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.”
Dr Nell Drew

Susan Leask
“Dear Brutus was amazing to see. I had no idea what to expect going in and I’m so glad I didn’t research beforehand. The performers brought the story to such life. The tech and sets were wonderfully designed and the story itself was punctuated so well by the score. If you haven’t yet, and if there’s still tickets available for any remaining dates I fully recommend you get yourself some. It was so good.”
Ryan J. Barrowman
“Excellent show last night. The whole cast were really excellent! What a whacky story! Super production, congratulations to all! 2 years, 2 shows, and both have been such a high standard!”
Andy Laing
“Fantastic, Fiona! We both thoroughly enjoyed the play, and were speechless at the end! So funny and sad and poignant all at once…”
Angie Fowler
"Just want to congratulate you on a truly enchanting production last night! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I thought all the actors did an excellent job in portraying their contrasting characters but was particularly moved by the scenes between yourself, simon and "Margaret"...you all really brought out the depth and sadness of the situation the characters found themselves in.
The attention to detail in the set, costumes, sound and lighting just added such a level of professionalism to a masterpiece! I think J. M. Barrie is becoming my all time favourite author!"
Ruth McLaren
"Lovely production Fiona! Well done to you guys. Not easy producing, directing and performing! Kudos doll! Set was beautiful!"
Gaby Pavone
"Thanks for an absolutely magical performance. It is a long time since I really did feel the hairs stand out on the back of my neck. A combination of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, An Inspector Calls, Blythe Spirit and even a touch of The Woman in Black and Lady Windermere's Fan! I actually want to see it again!"
